India and the Contemporary World II is the Class X History NCERT. The printed book (Reprint 2026-27) has five chapters in three sections, and these notes follow it chapter by chapter for the world-history and modern-India parts of GS1.

  • Section I, Events and Processes: I. The Rise of Nationalism in Europe; II. Nationalism in India.
  • Section II, Livelihoods, Economies and Societies: III. The Making of a Global World; IV. The Age of Industrialisation.
  • Section III, Everyday Life, Culture and Politics: V. Print Culture and the Modern World.

NCERT lists three more chapters "For Extended Learning", provided "in digital mode" because they "were printed in the previous textbooks": The Nationalist Movement in Indo-China, Work, Life and Leisure, and Novels, Society and History. Our Indo-China page is kept with that label, because Vietnam's struggle is a ready comparison for India's national movement.
